I was able to finish reading the book today. The compilation of short stories held my attention and I took my time enjoying each one. Congratulations to all the people who compiled this book. They truly have woven together some incredible tales that portray the people and culture of Appalachia. Some stories are reminiscent of the Twilight Zone while others recreate the landscape and tall tales of days gone by. I think every reader will enjoy the stories even if they have never set foot in the mountains of Appalachia.Product details

Some really wonderful short stories. A few of them I just didn't want to end, a great read. I am happy to find multiple authors to follow in this gem of a book!

West Virginia apparently has no shortest of myths and fantasies. Reading Mountain Mysts makes you want to visit the area and experience the tales first hand. Then you think twice, recalling what happened to some of those in the short stories allowing curiosity to get the better of them. Suppose sometimes it is best to live these adventures through the story tellers instead. My appetite hungers for more Appalachian lore. Keep the stories coming I say.
This first story was so dark and depressive I couldn't go any further.
